The Official Jim Sturgess Myspace features several tracks which are credited to bands Jim has played with in the past. The JSOnline crew were curious about the history behind these bands, and after doing some research, have been able to verify the following information:
Saint Faith was a band Jim was in with a group of friends in London. It was a 7-piece band that split up before Jim and another musician went on to create Dilated Spies… all these pieces of music are demos recorded by the bands and the Dilated Spies recordings were done in Jim’s flat in London.
As for the Ludlow Quartet, they were a quartet that were working in the same studio where Jim was recording tracks for Across the Universe in New York. Jim had been talking to them around the studio area, and then asked if they’d put something down on a piano idea he was messing around with. Apparently the track was recorded live during his lunch break!
