In addition, we have another video clip from the film to share, this one courtesy of My Movies.  This scene shows the first meeting of Jamie Morgan (Jim Sturgess) and Papa B (Joseph Mawle), who plays the devil figure in the film.

STURGESS & HATHAWAY CONFIRMED FOR ‘ONE DAY’

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Screen Daily has confirmed Jim Sturgess and Anne Hathaway have signed as leads in One Day, Lone Scherfig’s feature follow up to the critically acclaimed, An Education.  Nina Jacobson’s company Color Force will produce and Focus Features will back the upcoming romantic drama.  Below is an artistic interpretation of the two actors designed by Co-webmistress Liz, along with a short excerpt from the article:

Hathaway, who most recently was seen as The White Queen in Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland, and Sturgess, who was recently in Peter Weir’s The Way Back, will play two students who meet on July 15, 1988, on the night of their graduation.  She is a working class girl of principle and ambition, he is a wealthy charmer.  The two become fast friends and the story follows them every July 15 over the following 20 years as their lives encompass love and loss, heartbreak and success, hopes fulfilled and dreams shattered.

MORE ‘SPIDER-MAN’ REBOOT CASTING RUMORS

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

The Spider-Man 4 reboot news continues to swirl around several actors in consideration for the role of Peter Parker.  Today Noel Clarke who has a role in the upcoming Philip Ridley film Heartless, has leaked casting news about his fellow Heartless co-star, Jim Sturgess:

NoelClarke RT @IAmSnakeyMan: Got inside track. jim sturgess has bin offerd the new spiderMan in spiderMan reboot, U knw I always get da inside scoop RT

The Hollywood Reporter and Comic Book Movie.com have also picked up the story of Jim Sturgess being cast as Peter Parker, but from the same source we’ve listed above.  Hopefully we’ll have further confirmation soon, but in the meantime our forum member momoko has uncovered some interesting information about the possible Spiderman 4 reboot script.  From SuperHeroHype forum here are the details:

Basically for SM4:
- Spider-Man 4 DID feature Peter and Mary-Jane with a baby.
- Vulturess was added in the script, at the request of the studio.
- Vulturess was a retooled version of Black Cat.
- Vulture was the editor of the Daily Bugle.
- Script was apparently pure crap.
- Raimi had lost hope in the project and walked.
- The studio also wanted to add a third villain.
- Anne Hathaway was gone from the project late last year (my guess is when Sony turned the Black Cat into the Vulturess).

For the reboot:
- The script is much better than the script for Spider-Man 4.
- The script IS complete, and was finished at the same time as SM4, allowing the studio to compare the two.
- The script was commissioned as a contingency plan, should Raimi walk.
- Unfortunately, they describe the script as “more Dark Knight than Spider-man”.
- The new film is the first part in a new trilogy.
- The aim of the script is to cut the “fluff” - which they speculate means no humour and a serious tone.
