Excitement is building around the September 24th premiere of Zack Snyder’s 3-Danimated action adventure, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, with the release today of three new 30-second television commercials by Warner Brothers. Below are two of the spots which both center around the film’s main character, Soren, a young barn owl voiced by Jim Sturgess.
Two new Legend of the Guardians trailers were leaked today on YouTube, both under 30 seconds in length and will presumably be used as television advertisements for the film. The new 3D animated feature directed by Zack Snyder and starring Jim Sturgess as Soren, is due to be released in the U.S. on September 24. Check out both trailers below:
CinemaBlend and IMP Awards have posted the Legend of the Guardians poster featuring a beautiful image of Soren, the young barn owl voiced by Jim Sturgess. The film is due in theaters on September 24, 2010 and will be seen in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D. Below is a short quote from the CinemaBlend article:
A melting pot of Hollywood’s elite, Guardians stars Jim Sturgess as Soren, who fights against the evil owls, the Pure Ones, who are brainwashing young owlets into soldiers for their own personal army. Their ultimate goal is to take over all the owl kingdoms, but Soren will try to stop them by summoning the legendary Guardians of Ga’Hoole. Supported by Hugo Weaving, Helen Mirren, Sam Neill, and David Wenham just to name a few, Guardians is turning from “that owl with the silly name” to one of the most anticipated adventures of the year.

Emilie de Ravin plays Eglantine, left, a good friend of Soren, center, and a member of theowls’ search-and-rescue team. Jim Sturgess plays Soren, while Ryan Kwanten provides the voice for Kludd, right, Soren’s jealous brother. “Soren is a classic hero,” Snyder says. “He loves his sister, who is sweet, but smart beyond her years. He’s a dreamer. He loves myths and stories. Kludd sees all that as weakness.”
And from Gail, one of our Forum members, we have impressions of the Legend of the Guardians trailer which aired tonight on REELZCHANNEL:
Beautiful animation. Beautiful owls and some scarry looking ones too. Jim’s voice was awesome. His voice is so expressive and convincing as a youngster. Just what you would imagine coming from an animated character. I don’t remember reading if he had a singing role…but the song in the background certainly sounded like him. Yep, I’m definately going to see Alice this weekend, if only to see the trailer again.
