We are pleased to share with you a video with the full version of “Mistake the Enemy” written and performed by Jim Sturgess for his character, Gavin Kossef, in Crossing Over.
YouTube disabled the video, so it is now in the Jim Sturgess Video gallery here.
The theatrical release of Crossing Over, directed by Wayne Kramer and starring Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, Ashley Judd and Jim Sturgess, is available on DVD today. The DVD is available for rental at Blockbuster and Netflix, and for purchase at Best Buy and Amazon.
In an earlier post we told you about Wayne Kramer’s comments on Facebook concerning a Director’s Cut of the film. If you are interested in a Director’s Cut you can get more information about contacting The Weinstein Company here.
A quote from Wayne Kramer’s Facebook page concerning a video made by one of our webmistresses, Diane (Fantasy Girl) using clips from Crossing Overstarring Jim Sturgess.
“Fantasy Girl”associated with jimsturgessonline.com has edited a music video from “Crossing Over” footage and reimagined the film as a romantic drama centered around Jim Sturgess and Alice Eve’s characters. She even includes footage seen in the trailer that Weinstein Company cut out of the film against my wishes! It’s a nicely crafted effort; my only beef with it is it’s in the wrong aspect ratio (1.78:1 instead of 2.35 and that’s because the footage is taken from a pirated version of the film in the HD pan and scan version). A shout-out to the filmmakers would have been nice as well
Below are two versions of the video, one from YouTube, and one from JSOC featuring Hotel California by The Eagles.
JSOC co-webmistress, Diane, would like to apologize for not mentioning Director Wayne Kramer in the video. You can read his comment on Facebook here.
Director Wayne Kramer, has shared some very interesting behind-the-scenes images and story boards on his Facebook about his film, Crossing Over, starring Harrison Ford and Jim Sturgess. Below is Mr. Kramer’s response to JSO.com’s comments about the film:
Liz and Diane - thanks for your kind comments. Jim [Sturgess] was fantastic to work with. Super talented across the board. I have no doubt he will become a major star. I wish there was more of him in Crossing Over…
I begged him [Harvey Weinstein] to reinstate the final scenes between Jim and Alice Eve that resolves their storyline and he wouldn’t listen to reason. It was a great moment for both of them. And the film need it. The film needed all the other character building scenes that they arbitrarily chopped out as well…
I think everyone with an interest in seeing the real version of Crossing Over should write and protest to the Weinstein Company. Jim Sturgess fans should definitely make their voices heard…
